Decision 2008: Political News

Anti-Iraq War Activist Cindy Sheehan is now say she will challenge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her house seat in 2008, if she does not file articles of impeachment for President Bush. Pelosi will not likely do so, so look for Sheehan to run for congress next year. There was talk of her running as a 3rd party candidate for president either as a green or as a libertarian. Don't look for a challenge to come from this as Pelois is quite popular in her district. Disabled Iraq War Veteran Tammy Duckworth who run last year in 2006 for congress will not challenge her old opponent who she narrowly lost to, Peter Roskam. Roskam is now looking to glide to re-election with Duckworth out. Another McCain team shake-up. Senator John McCain fires Terry Nelson as campaign manager and longtime McCain insider Rick Davis heads the campaign. This comes after numerous shake-ups in his campaign. Will the McCain campaign ever rebound? 6 Republicans in the senate now oppose the Iraq War, with New Mexico's Peter Domenici switching his support. Domenici is up for re-election next year and may face a tough challenge. Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore is recovering from eye surgery and has posponed his presidential campaign but has said he will jump right back in once he heals dismissing any rumors he was dropping out of the race.
